About Us

Olivia A. Mussett, CFP® is the founder of Mussett Wealth Management, LLC, an independent,  fee-based financial planning firm located in Rensselaer New York. Olivia focuses on providing comprehensive financial planning and investment management to individuals, families, small businesses and charities. She works directly with clients to structure and implement successful financial plans, to include appropriate asset allocation and investment planning, as well as retirement and risk planning.

Olivia began her career in the Financial Services industry in 1998 with Banc of America Investments in Jacksonville, Florida. In this role, she analyzed and monitored client portfolios and implemented adjustments to their investment strategy. In 2001, she joined Prudential Securities in Albany, NY, where she managed all aspects of investment administration for two independent investment teams. In 2002, she was a Relationship Manager with Curran Advisory Group of Wachovia Securities and later Curran Investment Management, where she created and managed financial plans for high net worth clients.

Olivia is a 2004 graduate of The American College’s CFP® Certification Program, successfully completing studies in financial planning, risk management, investments, tax planning and management, retirement and employee benefits and estate planning. In 2005, she earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation. She was a Series 7, 63 and 65 investment advisor and is currently licensed in life, accident and health insurance. She has completed the NYS Partnership for Long-term Care Insurance training.

Olivia is President of the Financial Planning Association of Northeastern New York, an organization of Albany NY financial planners. She is a member of the Women’s Business Council of the Capital Region Chamber of Commerce, a volunteer with Junior League and the proud leader of Girl Scouts Troop # 1195.

She works mainly with clients in Albany NY, Rensselaer NY and surrounding areas as well as in other parts of the United States. Her goal is to build long-term relationships with her clients based on trust and integrity and to expand her business through referrals from satisfied clients.

 

helen_bw Helen Carroll, CFP®, QPFC joined Mussett Wealth Management in 2014. She focuses on retirement plan consulting services for business clients and comprehensive financial planning services for individual clients.

Helen has been in the financial services industry for many years. She began her career with Troy Savings Bank and then First Niagara Bank. Her role at the bank was Branch Manager and Assistant Vice President. She worked with both individual and business bank clients. In 2005, Helen joined the Financial Services Division of Jaeger & Flynn Associates. She was the Vice President of that division and managed both individual and business account relationships. Her responsibilities included retirement plan consulting, investment analysis and advice, portfolio management, and comprehensive financial planning. In 2009, Helen joined Direct Retirement Solutions where she managed a portfolio of employer sponsored retirement plan clients.  She was responsible for retirement plan management and design, investment advisory services, fiduciary oversight and participant education.

Helen is a 1998 graduate of The College of Financial Planning College’s CFP® Certification program, successfully completing studies in financial planning, risk management, investments, tax planning and management, retirement and employee benefits and estate planning. She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.  She was a Series 6, 63 and 65 investment advisor and is currently licensed in life, accident and health insurance. Helen also holds a QUALIFIED PLAN FINANCIAL CONSULTANT credential from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries.

Helen is a board member for the Financial Planning Association of Northeastern New York, an organization of financial planners in upstate New York and Ingersoll Place, an assisted living facility in Niskayuna, NY.   Helen also serves on the Program Committee of the Women’s Business Council of the Capital Region Chamber of Commerce.

Her goal is to provide “best in class” retirement plans and financial plans to business and individual clients.  She would also like to grow her client base through referrals and recommendations from satisfied clients and business partners.
